This concert will feature the following:

ONCE IN ISRAEL by Marie Nelson Bennett

A multi-movement oratorio scored for chorus, orchestra and soloists. Based on poetry by Emma Lou Thayne, the dramatic oratorio describes the author’s visit to Israel, the impressions of her arrival and being a woman there, the harshness of war, the beauty of the Beatitudes, and the peace of a Beduin mother’s lullaby. VISIONS by John Rutter, Jenny Oaks Baker-Violin Soloist

A four-movement showpiece for solo violin in unique combination with women’s choir, harp, and strings. Inspired by the idea of ‘Jerusalem’ both as a Holy City and a utopian ideal of heavenly peace and seraphic bliss.
