DESCRIPTION:A stirring celebration of America’s 250th anniversary\, featuring the world premiere of I Lift My Lamp by Ray Shattenkirk. Commissioned by the Salt Lake Choral Artists in celebration of America’s semiquincentennial\, I Lift My Lamp offers a magnificent musical account of America’s 250-year journey\, exploring its triumphs and challenges\, its diverse origins and shared ideals\, and a call to heal our divisions and renew our common purpose. The concert will also feature patriotic songs and anthems\, American folk music\, and Americana favorites\, including Howard Hanson’s “Song of Democracy\,” “God Bless America\,” “Give Me Your Tired\, Your Poor\,” “The Battle Hymn of the Republic\,” “America the Beautiful\,” and more! We are proud to offer free admission to all Active Duty\, Reserve\, and National Guard service members across all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces\, as well as Veterans.
